Vancouver BC Homes – What is the weather like all year in Vancouver BC?

What is the weather like all year in Vancouver BC?

All year? Oh wow, that's a lot of weather to describe!
Most our weather comes east from off the pacific ocean. We are considered the “rain coast” and for good reason. We get alot of rain.

We have 4 specific seasons here. In Autumn (oct-dec) we get lots of rain, and it starts to get a chill in the air around halloween. Sometimes it snows, mostly it rains, sometimes it storms…we've had some real bad storms in the past few years.

Our winter (jan-mar) we usually see some snow. Rarely it ever snows on Xmas though. Usually a huge dump of snow a few times a month, and then it turns to rain and washes away. Sometimes it stays for longer. Sometimes we get -20c as the weather comes from the north instead of west. Our ski hills get loaded down with snow while we are getting rain in the valley.

Our spring sees more rain, and rain, and rain (apr-jun) Or overcast and grey most days. The days that are sunny, you can tell because just about everyone takes advantage of it, and is outside! then its back to rain and rain. Sometimes the months can be drier…for example this june we hardly got any rain, but it was chillier than normal.

Our summer blasts in around late june until september. Some days inland we can get to 38c. Near the ocean it is always about 5c cooler. Some summers we can have 5 sunny hot days, then 1 rain day, then more sunny hot days – some years it will only rain once a month. Hottest I can remember we got to was 48c. People are starting to buy airconditioners for their homes now…we never needed them 10 years ago.

Hope this helps!

  • Rules For Adult Children Living at Home During College Breaks

    [Home-and-Family:Parenting]
When adult children return home for college breaks – whether it’s just for a long weekend, or for several months over the summer holidays – it’s important to talk about what your expectations (and theirs) will be for how you will all live peacefully together. Your adult children may feel that, since they are adults who no longer live with you full-time, they should be treated as guests, without any rules on restrictions for their behavior or their comings and goings.

  • How Much Rent to Charge Adult Children Living at Home

    [Home-and-Family:Parenting]
It may not be what you want to hear, but how much rent to charge your adult children living at home does depend on a few factors: 1. What can the adult child afford? If they’re living at home, they probably can’t afford market rent.

  • A Simple Guide to Writing Obituaries

    [Home-and-Family:Death-Dying]
The art of obituary writing involves much more than creating a notice that someone has passed away. It is a chance for you and your family to say goodbye to your loved one, to capture the aspects of that person’s life, work, and personality that were most important and that they most want to share with the world.

For families with adult children graduating college this spring, now is the time to start talking about what life will be like after graduation. For many new grads, the only option will be to move back in with Mom and Dad.

  • Using Online Articles and Press Releases to Boost Your Web Site’s Search Engine Ranking

    [Internet-and-Businesses-Online:SEO]
Any small business that doesn’t have a web site is losing out on potential customers – these days, that’s a simple fact. And any web site that’s buried deep in the search engine rankings is losing out on potential customers too. Think of the Internet as a (very, very) large networking event.

  • Coping With the Financial and Emotional Costs of Adult Children Living at Home After Graduation

    [Home-and-Family:Parenting]
September is traditionally back-to-school season. But for new college grads – and their families – the first September after graduation can be a challenging one. That’s because many new grads find themselves back at home, living with their parents for the first time in several years.

  • Why SEO Articles and Press Releases Outsourced to Foreign Writers Are Less Effective

    [Internet-and-Businesses-Online:SEO]
Anyone who’s doing business online knows how important it is to achieve a top ranking in the main search engines, like Google and Yahoo. But with so much competition — sometimes millions of other pages competing for top keywords — how can you get your site moving towards the top? The best strategy for most small and medium businesses is to combine search-engine-optimized content with press releases and online articles.

The good news is, adult children can live successfully at home – but only if you avoid some critical mistakes right from the start (or correct them right away!).
